Description
The Russian Navy Project 22600 represents a new class of diesel-powered icebreaker ship intended to support operations in the Arctic waters. The Project 22600 has a full load displacement of 22,000 tons and is the biggest and one of the most powerful of its class excluding nuclear-powered icebreakers. The Admiralty Shipyard in Saint Petersburg is building the lead ship of this class which is expected to enter service in 2019 or 2020 after being delayed due to a deck fire happened when she was under construction in November 2018.
