Description

The Zircon-M is an upgraded variant of the Zircon hypersonic missile with an increased range beyond 1,500 kilometers. The Russian Navy may use the new Zircon-M missile to hit targets on land after being fired from a safe position at sea. The new missile existence was revealed in March 2021 which might indicate that a first test flight may happen before 2023 and an entry into service by the mid-2020s. The missile retains its hypersonic speed but other characteristics remain unknown. The upgraded Zircon may have a range between 2,000 and 2,500 kilometers.
