Description

The Sprut-SD is a self-propelled anti-tank gun intended to engage Main Battle Tanks (MBT), fortifications, and provide fire support during assault operations. It was developed on the basis of the BMP-3 Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV). It features a stabilized, smoothbore 125mm 2A75 main gun equivalent to those installed in the Russian T-80 and T-90 MBTs. In addition, the 125mm gun is able to fire the Refleks laser beam riding anti-tank missile and one coaxial 7.62mm machine gun has been provided in the turret. The Sprut-SD 125mm 2A75 gun automatic ammunition loader system ensures high rates of fire even loading the Refleks anti-tank missile. The 2A75 gun can also engage low/slow flying helicopters using the Refleks missile.
