Description
The Istanbul-class frigate, also referred to as TF100 and TF2000, has been designed to perform Anti-Air Warfare (AAW) missions carrying ESSM missiles as well as Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW) missions carrying 16 anti-ship missiles. The Turkish Navy expects to commission the lead frigate in 2022 or 2023. Finally, the lead ship was commissioned in January 2024. Turkiye ordered another four frigates in the summer of 2024 to be delivered by 2035. Indonesia ordered two ships worth $1 billion in July 2025 to be build by PT PAL.
