Description
The Atlet (Athlete in English), also known as VPK-23136 Special Military Vehicle, is a 4x4 tactical armored vehicle developed by the Military Industrial Company (VPK) to serve with police units. The vehicle design has been optimized to withstand bomb blasts operating in the urban environment as well as mines, improvised explosive devices (IED) and projectiles. The Atlet features increased mine and ballistic protection than the Russian Army 4x4 armored vehicle Tiger. The prototype was unveiled in August 2019 and is expected to be ready for fielding by August-September 2020.
