Description

The C-295W is an updated version of the C-295 tactical military medium transport aircraft featuring winglets and enhanced Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127 turboprop engines. The aircraft has been optimized for operations from hot and high airfields with a payload increase in excess of 1,000 kg. The C-295AEW based on the C-295W standard will increase its flight endurance by 30-60 minutes whilst achieving operating altitudes up to 2,000-ft higher. The combination of winglets and enhanced engines will deliver an overall reduction in fuel consumption of roughly four percent. Airbus Military launched the C-295W aircraft in May 2013 with the first aircraft to be certified in the second quarter of 2014 and the first aircraft delivered in the fourth quarter of 2014.
