Description

The National Mobile Air Defense System (NOMADS) is a new tracked missile system developed by Kongsberg to provide protection for maneuver units on the battlefield. A single tracked chassis NOMADS vehicle includes mast-mounted Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, surface-to-air missiles equipped with passive seeker and IFF. Besides, the NOMADS can be networked with NATO battle command systems and ground-based air defenses. The weapon system has been designed to take down drones, cruise missiles, helicopters and fixed-wing airplanes. The NOMADS was unveiled in June 2024.
