The Turkish Navy Hisar program calls for the procurement of 10 multi-purpose corvettes developed within the MILGEM program. These ships feature a Combined Diesel-Electric or Diesel (CODELOD) propulsion system arrangement with four diesel engines and two electric motors. These ships are provided with radars, sonars and other sensors and weapon system developed and produced in Turkiye. The weapon system includes a 76mm naval gun, two 12.7mm remotely controlled weapon stations, one Gokdeniz close-in weapon system (CIWS), eight HISAR-D surface-to-air missiles, eight Atmaca anti-ship missiles and six anti-submarine torpedoes. The Hisar-class corvettes also feature flight deck and hangar for a single S-70B helicopter or unmanned aerial vehicles. The Turkish Navy commissioned the first vessel in December 2024.
