Description

The BR71 Mk II is a guided-missile, multipurpose corvette designed and built by EDGE Group and ADSB shipyards for the Navy of Angola following a $1.1 billion contract awarded in February 2023. Angola will get three Mk II corvettes before the year 2030. The 71-meter long Mk II corvettes feature a naval gun, surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles, 3D search radar, electronic warfare suite and secure communications suite. Besides, a flight deck allows operations of two 5-ton class helicopters. These vessels are intended to perform maritime patrol, surveillance and littoral warfare against surface and airborne threats.
