Piranha 3+

The General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) Piranha 3+ is an improved version of the Piranha III 8x8 with a gross vehicle weight of 27 tons and enhanced level of protection, off-road mobility and growth potential. The Piranha 3+ armored personnel carrier (APC) has a crew of three-man (driver, gunner and commander) and can transport up to 9 fully-equipped infantrymen. Besides the vehicle features a roof-mounted Kongsberg 12.7mm Protector remote weapon station, a modular protection system, larger internal volume and a 10 percent payload increase. A new engine provides up to 30% more power (520-hp), a top speed of 110 kilometers per hour and a maximum range of 1,000 kilometers. Optionally the Piranha 3+ can be equipped with an amphibious drive to operate as a marine infantry vehicle. The Piranha 3+ was unveiled in June 2014 at the Eurosatory exhibition, Paris, France.
