Description

The MQ-28A Ghost Bat, formerly known as Boeing Airpower Teaming System (BATS), is a fighter-like unmanned air system developed in Australia to provide multi-mission support. This unmanned platform has been designed to team up with existing military aircraft such as manned fighter jets and large airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft. The unmanned platform will be able to fly at ranges of 2,000 nautical miles (+3,600 kilometers) carrying and integrated sensor package to perform Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Electronic Warfare (EW) missions. Besides, the aircraft will feature Artificial Intelligence (AI) to fly autonomously. The MQ-28A Ghost Bat performed its first flight on March 21, 2021, and may enter into service by 2025.
