Description

The Stand-Off Missile (SOM) is a family of modular cruise missiles developed by Roketsan to meet the requirements of the Turkish Air Force (TuAF) with the aim pointing at operational flexibility. The missile family features a wide range of high-precision guidance technologies and warheads to hit a variety of high value targets such as SAM sites, exposed aircraft, strategic assets, command and control centers, warships etc. The fire-and-forget air-launched missile has a maximum range of 250 kilometers and is intended to hit both stationary and moving surface targets. The TuAF has deployed the SOM missile family on its upgraded F-4E / 2020 and its F-16C/D Block 40 fighter jets. Besides, there is an agreement with Airbus for the integration of SOM cruise missile on the Eurofighter Typhoon multirole aircraft.
