Description

The Kungas is an experimental family of robotic vehicles developed to meet the requirements of the Russian Armed Forces. The system consists of a man-portable 12 kilogram small reconnaissance robot; a 200 kg robot capable of carrying anti-tank missiles and machine guns; a 2-ton fire support and reconnaissance vehicle equipped with a 12.7mm machine gun and a 30mm AGS-30 automatic grenade launcher; the Nerekhta combat robot; and unmanned BTR-MDM tracked armored personnel carrier. In the near future, the vehicle family will be expanded with a heavyweight robot called Sturm and a medium-weight robot called Companion. The Kungas system was tested successfully in late 2019 and is expected to be fielded within 2020.
