Description
The Svinets is a family of 125mm tank rounds developed for the T-80BVM upgraded heavy tank operated by the Russian Army since 2017. The Svinets tank round is available in two versions, Svinets-1 and Svinets-2, with one of them made of depleted uranium in order to penetrate heavy armor used by Western tanks. These rounds feature new alloys and are intended to penetrate the best armor known so far. The existence of the Svinets 125mm tank rounds was reveled in December 2018.
