Description

The US Army Intermediate Range Conventional Prompt Strike Weapon System (AIRCPSWS) is a new ballistic missile designed to cover distances from 500 to 5,500 kilometers previously banned by the INF treaty. On August 6, 2019, the US Navy awarded a $406 million contract to Lockheed Martin to develop a large diameter rocket motor to support the new weapon system. Under this contract the new missile would be ready by January 2024.
