Description
The PeruSat-1 is a Earth Observation satellite using the Airbus Defence and Space AstroBus-S platform combined with the Naomi family of optical instruments. The spacecraft is intended to provide high resolution imagery. Besides, this intelligence system includes a ground control and image reception and processing segment in a space centre in Peru. Airbus will transfer technology allowing for the Peruvian engineers and technicians to take full responsibility for managing the entire program. The PeruSat-1 satellite program was ordered by the Peruvian Ministry of Defense in April 2014 and is slated for launch from Kourou spaceport, French Guiana, by an Arianespace Vega space launch system in 2016.
