Description
The Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos) Ionozond is a satellite constellation intended to monitor Earth’s Ionosphere and the Sun as well as geophysical porcesses. The constellation consists of four Ionosfera-M satellites and one Zond-M satellite placed into Earth’s Sun-Synchronous Orbits (SSO). The first two Ionosfera-M satellites were launched in November 2024 by a Soyuz-2.1b rocket and two additional satellites were expected to follow in July 2025.
