Description
The MQ-1B Block X is a new version of the Predator Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) utilizing a Heavy Fuel Engine (HFE) and leveraging technologies from the MQ-9 Reaper and Warrior/ERMP Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles (UCAVs). The new Predator version will have a max takeoff weight of 3,200-lb and would carry up to four Hellfire anti-armor missiles. The US Air Force awarded a $10.1 million contract to General Atomics Aeronautical Systems for the design, fabrication, integration, and testing of the MQ-1B Block X aircraft on May 7, 2007.
