Description

The Russian Marines K-17 Bumerang, K-17M designation?, is a version optimized to support amphibious operations capable of swimming distances of over 60 kilometers and being delivered onshore through hovercrafts. The vehicle leverages the same protection and modular firepower from the K-17 armored personnel carrier but should be modified to optimize its swimming capabilities with the aim to boost the 12 kph speed on water. The Russian Navy stated in August 2017 that the Marines Bumerang was already being developed with aim to equip the Naval Infantry replacing the BTR-80M and BTR-82A armored vehicles.
