Description

The Centauro VBM Recovery is a new version of the Centauro VBM infantry fighting vehicle intended to serve as engineer vehicle as well as for recovery and repair of damaged armored vehicles on the battlefield. The vehicle can be equipped with two 7.62mm machine guns for self-defense purposes. The vehicle features NBC protection, a 100 meters hydraulic winch, hydraulic crane, anti-tank mine and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) protection, rear ramp, frontal blade, smoke grenades 8x80mm, anti-mine seats, laser warning system, etc. The Centauro VBM Recovery vehicle is powered by an IVECO 8262 6V turbocharged after cooler diesel engine rated at 405 KW (550-hp). So far, the Spanish Army is the only known operator for this version.
