Flyer 72

The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) M1288 Ground Mobility Vehicle 1.1 (GMV 1.1) program has developed a 4x4 vehicle for Special Operations based on the Flyer 72 platform modified following the USSOCOM requirements. The GMV 1.1 program was awarded to General Dynamics in August 2013 and entered the low rate initial production (LRIP) phase in early October 2014. The USSOCOM will take delivery of 72 vehicles by 2016. The GMV/Flyer 72 is extremely lightweight, highly mobile platform that can be transported internally by a C/MH-47 helicopter. The vehicle has a top speed of 100 mph and a cruising range of 350 miles carrying nine operators over rough terrain. General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems along with Flyer Defense developed the Flyer 72 vehicle.
