Description

IA-58 Pucara is a twin-engine, twin-seat turboprop aircraft developed to perform combat and reconnaissance missions. It was equipped with a 20mm cannon and was able to deliver bombs and missiles. Argentina ordered 108 such aircraft and was sold to Colombia, Sri Lanka and Uruguay. IA-58A Pucara saw combat during the Falklands Islands conflict. Two upgraded models IA-58B equipped with a 30mm cannon and single-seat IA-58C were proposed but none went out of the production line. The IA-58 aircraft is powered by two Turbomeca Astazou XVIG turboprops driving a three-blade propeller.
