Master M
The Master M, manufactured by ThalesRaytheonSystems in the United States, is a solid-state, 3D air surveillance, long-range radar system operating in the S-band with an instrumented range of 470 km and a range resolution of 200 m. It features a linear phased array antenna with 56 rows, electronically scanning in elevation with multiple thin pencil beams while rotating in azimuth, achieving an accuracy of 30m and 0.3° with a beamwidth of 3°. Available in fixed and mobile configurations, it supports unmanned operation autonomously or within a network, boasting a Mean Time Between Critical Failures (MTBCF) of 1,500 hours. For electronic counter-countermeasures, the system offers high transmitter bandwidth, high sidelobe suppression, automatic selection of the least interfered carrier frequency, and pulse-to-pulse or burst-to-burst frequency agility. An integrated monopulse LVA antenna for Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) interrogation is located atop the primary antenna, and the system includes an integrated simulator for operator training. For transport, the Master M comprises a convoy of four trucks carrying four 20-foot ISO-compatible containers and one 20-foot ISO platform on a semi-trailer, with assembly or disassembly by a 10-person crew taking two hours.
