Description

The EIRS (Erken İhbar Radar Sistemi), an S-band (IEEE designation) or E/F-band (NATO designation) long-range early warning radar, was developed by the Turkish manufacturer ASELSAN. It features an active electronically scanned array (AESA) antenna and digital beamforming technology, operating either autonomously or integrated into an air defense network. The system is highly mobile, utilizing 10-ton class tactical wheeled vehicles for transport, and is air-transportable by C-130 or A400M aircraft, with a deployment and march order time of approximately 30 minutes. With an instrumented range of 700 km, a Mean Time Between Critical Failures (MTBCF) of 3000 hours, and a Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) of 30 minutes, the first of six planned units is expected to be delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces in 2026.
