Oniks-M

The upgrades Oniks, Oniks-M, is an improved version of the missile featuring a maximum range of 1,000 kilometers. The existence of the Oniks-M was made public in December 2022. The export variant of the Oniks missile has a maximum range of 300 kilometers while the weapons operated by the Russian military feature a maximum range between 600 and 800 kilometers. The missile was designed primarily as anti-ship missile but can engage targets onshore as well as proven during the special military operation in Ukraine in 2022. The Oniks-M missile would feature other improvements such as an increased top speed potentially making it hypersonic.
