Description

The Arrow 3 is a long range anti-ballistic missile (ABM) designed to intercept and destroy the future threats such as the latest ballistic missiles being developed by Iran. The Arrow 3 interceptor integrates seamlessly into the Arrow Weapon System (AWS) along with the Arrow 2. Both missiles enable multiple engagement opportunities through its large kinematic envelope and short flight time. The two-stage Arrow 3 is based on hit-to-kill technology out of Earth's atmosphere and will be fitted with a high resolution Electro-Optical (EO) sensor. The Arrow 3 missile development was announced in June 2009 with the US government continuing funding the Arrow Weapon System program.
