Description

The ChangZheng 12B, also known as the CZ-12B or Long March 12B (LM-12B) in the West, is a larger variant of the Long March 12 rocket designed to carry payloads of 20 tons onto Low Earth Orbit (LEO) or 12 tons payloads into Sun Synchronous Orbits (SSO) at 700 kilometers of altitude. The CZ-12B’s first stage is reusable and is propelled by nine liquid oxygen-kerosene-fueled YF-102R engines and the second stage uses a single YF-102V engine. The rocket has an overall height of 72 meters and 4.37 meters of diameter. The first launch was carried out on June 1, 2026.
