Design
The Mine Anti-tank low metal content 1A is made of plastic, apart from the striker pin, striker spring, safety clip and detonator holder.
The landmine body has rounded edges, a cloth-carrying handle attached to the side and a slight dome shape with a raised circular section around the fuze cavity cap.
The striker pin is made of stainless steel and the detonator holder is brass.
The fuze can be fitted either in the top of the landmine or in the base.
Arming
It is then armed by rotating the pressure plate.
Fuze
The fuze is claimed to be blast-resistant and should not be initiated by explosive counter-measures.
Note
The shelf-life of the landmine body is 30 years, while the fuze has a shelf-life of 10 years.
