Description
The JY-11B Chinese 3D Mobile Air-Surveillance Radar is an S-band 3D mobile air-surveillance radar specifically designed for intercepting low-altitude targets. The radar design features a reconfigurable transmitting beam shape, a digital beamforming unit, and a beam receiver. The contractor claims that the radar features advanced electronic counter-countermeasures (ECCM) and can detect low-flying targets in the presence of both natural and man-made clutter. The JY-11B radar is a fully mobile unit, and unlike the JY-11, it cannot be fully dismounted from the carrier vehicle. The system can be raised hydraulically from the vehicle and has automatic target detection, tracking, and target designation to the associated weapon system.
