Description
The JY-50 is a passive 2D radar system operating in the VHF band. It detects, locates, and tracks airborne targets, including stealth aircraft, by analyzing electromagnetic signals from ambient radio frequency sources such as civilian mobile phone, radio, and television broadcasts. Its primary role is to provide air defense warning for critical directions and sensitive areas. The system's antenna consists of an array of two rows, each with 12 inverted Vee elements backed by a reflective grating.
