Description
The XM1155 Extended-Range Artillery Projectile (ERAP) is an innovative 155mm projectile being developed to meet the requirements of the US Army to hit targets at a range of 100-120 kilometers. The revolutionary XM1155 projectile design includes tail rocket motors and large control surfaces to achieve very high altitudes gliding back to Earth and thus the outstanding range of 100-120 kilometers. The XM1155 projectile should achieve initial operational capability in the 2020s along the new XM1299 self-propelled howitzer.
