JY-26 Chinese Surveillance Radar
JY-26

The JY-26 Chinese Surveillance Radar is an early warning radar operating in the UHF band, known for its anti-stealth capabilities. The radar system requires a crew of 10 people for operation. It can be set up or dismantled in under an hour. The JY-26 is a mobile, 3D UHF-band radar capable of tracking up to 500 targets. First unveiled at the 2014 Zhuhai Air Show, it garnered significant attention again at the 2021 Zhuhai Air Show, being recognized as part of China's advanced, stealth-penetrating radar lineup. Some reports mistakenly described it as the military's first active phased array radar. The manufacturer, the 38th Research Institute of CETC, states that the radar was developed in response to international market demands and has been a "backbone" of China's long-range early warning air defense network since 2016. According to Chinese state media, it has been deployed in Shandong Province.
