Description
The C140 is a class of small landing craft designed and built by Turkey between the mid-1980s and the mid-1990s for its Navy. These vessels have been designed to deliver up to six M48 main battle tanks (or alternatively five M60/Leopard 1) or 100 fully equipped marines onto enemy shores. The 600-ton C140 craft propulsion system features three diesel engines developing 900-hp and a top speed of 10 knots. The weapon options available for this class are two 20mm guns and two 12.7mm machine guns. The Turkish Navy commissioned 19-20 C140 landing crafts between 1985 and 1994.
