Bayraktar Kizilelma
Bayraktar Kizilelma

The Bayraktar Kizilelma, also known as MIUS, is a jet-powered unmanned combat aircraft intended to support fifth generation fighter aircraft. The 6,000 kg Bayrakatar Kizilelma can perform both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions with the capability of taking off and landing using short runways even on small aircraft carriers. The aircraft is able to cruise at Mach 0.6 operating at an altitude of up to 35,000-ft (10,000+ meters) and is expected to feature a supersonic top speed of Mach 1.2 but this remains uncertain. The stealth MIUS can transport bombs and missiles inside an internal weapons bay with an estimated payload capacity of 1,500 kg. The MIUS can stay airborne for five hours and has a combat radius of 500 nautical miles (900 kilometers). Turkey expects to equip the Kizilelma with active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar boosting the aircraft’s situational awareness. The first prototype was under assembly in Mach 2022 and the maiden flight was conducted on December 14, 2022. The Turkish Air Force has an initial requirement for 10 Bayraktar Kizilelma with deliveries expected to start by 2027 or 2030.
