Description

The Mi-171A3 is a variant of the Mi-171A2 helicopter optimized for operations offshore specially supporting the oil and gas industry and unveiled in September 2019. Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant is responsible for producing the new helicopter optimized for shelf operations. The aircraft can take off with a maximum weight of 13 tons carrying 24 passengers or up to 5 tons. The helicopter is expected to perform cargo and personnel transportation and search and rescue (SAR) missions. The Mi-171A3 prototype was showcased at the MAKS airshow in Moscow in July 2021. The first Mi-171A3 helicopter is expected to take to the skies in early 2022 and thereafter is scheduled to enter service in 2023 or 2024.
