Description
The Skyborg Vanguard is an unmanned combat drone being developed by the US Air Force (USAF) with the aim to be deployed by 2023. The Skybord has been envisaged as test bed for Artificial Intelligence (AI) software technologies focusing on flight control and a wide range of combat operations. It is expected that the system will feature open architecture and modularity with a variety of sensors, weapons and other payloads to be integrated onboard. The low cost Skyborg program is expected to deliver an airframe in 2020 or later with an scheduled initial operational capability (IOC) planned for 2023.
