Description

The Mi AC AH F1 Anti-Vehicle Mine is a high-explosive (HE), cylindrical, metal-bodied, off-route, anti-vehicle (AV) landmine previously used by the British army designated the L14A1, that is designed to damage or destroy vehicles by its penetrating shaped-charge (SC) effect.

Design The landmine has a folding wire carrying handle and peep sights mounted on the top. It is surface mounted on an aiming stand with a circular base.
Operation On actuation, the landmine fires an Explosively Formed Projectile (EFP) shaped-charge (SC) designed to penetrate 50mm of armored steel at targets up to 80 meters away.
Command Detonated The landmine can be command detonated, fitted with its standard 80-metre break wire loop, or used with the IRMAH infrared influence fuze. The IRMAH, adopted in 1978, allows the landmine to be used in conditions where terrain, weather, enemy fire or troop passage precludes the use of the fragile break wire. The IRMAH uses an infrared sensor to detect a vehicle or armored targets.
