Description

The Ghadir is an anti-ship missile capable of engaging surface ships at ranges of more than 100 kilometers. Its development started in 2011. The Islamic Republic of Iran has produced this new missile under its arms development program started in 1992 as a response to the US-led arms embargo. The Ghadir anti-ship missile was unveiled by Iran's IRNA news agency in late August 2014. The missile can be fired from surface ships and helicopters and it flies at very low altitudes. The Ghadir missile is fitted with an advanced radar seeker with anti-jamming and anti-electronic warfare capabilities. In March 2015 the missile entered into mass production with a reported range of 300 kilometers.
