Description
The Light Medium Tactical Vehicle (LMTV) is a high mobility 2.5 ton class payload 4x4 diesel powered truck. The LMTV vehicles also feature automatic transmission, and central tire inflation system (CTIS). Basically, the LMTVs perform unit mobility and unit re-supply missions including the transport of equipment and personnel. Moreover, additional versions perform a wide variety of missions including cargo transport, vehicle recovery operations (wrecker), construction (dump), line haul (tractor), and airdrop missions using the Low Velocity AirDrop (LVAD) model. The LMTV series includes the M1078A1 standard cargo vehicle, M1079A1 van, M1080A1 2.5 ton chassis, and M1082 2.5 ton trailer.
