Description

The Stormer HVM (High Velocity Missile) is a short-range air defense system. It was developed primarily to counter the threat of attack helicopters and low-flying aircraft posed to armored formations. This air defense system is in service with the British Army.

Stormer (FV4333) Amphibious Armored Personnel Carrier (APC)
Stormer HVM The British Army use Stormer equipped with HVM (Starstreak & Lightweight Multirole Missile) for short range air defence. Under Army 2020, Stormer HVM was to equip three regular and two reserve artillery batteries. The reserve batteries have since all been converted to HVM LML to reduce the training burden.

Basic Load The Stormer has eight missiles mounted on the turret and can store an additional 12 inside the vehicle.
Note The system features a roof-mounted air defense alerting device. The system's infrared scanner and processor provide target detection and prioritization. It automatically slews the weapon sight onto the target. Use of the alerting device requires the vehicle to be briefly stationary.
