Description

The AR500C is an unmanned rotorcraft developed by AVIC Helicopter Research and Development Institute to conduct reconnaissance and communications relay missions. Besides, the AR500C has enough room to a variety of payloads to carry out electronic jamming, aerial search, fire suppression, maritime surveillance and tracing of chemical and nuclear leaks missions. The aircraft is a further evolution of the AR500B and is especially well suited for plateau conditions with a maximum takeoff weight of 500 kg, a ceiling of 6,700 meters and a maximum speed of 170 kilometers per hour. The rotorcraft can stay airborne for up to five hours with autonomous takeoff and landing capabilities. The AR500C helicopter development started in 2019 and conducted its maiden flight on May 20, 2020.
