Description

The Raytheon Peregrine is a medium-range air-to-air missile being offered as alternative for the AIM-120 missile onboard stealth aircraft. The missile has half the size and cost less than existing missiles while delivering greater range and performance such as speed, maneuverability and lethality. The missile will feature commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components that will make it cheaper and more effective compared with legacy air-to-air missiles. Raytheon announced the Peregrine missile development in September 2019 with the aim to field the new air-to-air missile in the early 2020s.
