Description
The Pantsyr-SA, also known as Pantsir-SA, is an upgraded variant of the Russian Air Force Pantsyr-S ground-based air defense system optimized for operations in the extreme cold Arctic climate. The upgraded air defense system will receive an extensive modernization to intercept UAVs and is expected to be ready for serial production by late 2016. The new air defense system is integrated onto the DT-30PM tracked all-terrain vehicle specially well suited for the Arctic environment. The Russian Armed Forces may take delivery of newly produced Pantsyr-SA air defense system beginning in late 2016 or early 2017.
