Description

The AN/FPQ-10 is a C-band missile-range instrumentation and tracking radar, operating between 5,400 and 5,900 MHz. This monopulse radar, with a peak power of 1 MW and an instrumented range of 200 nautical miles (370 km), is designed for acquiring and tracking missiles and aircraft. Although originally intended for fixed installations, it was also deployed on ships, primarily for tracking weather balloons over the Pacific Ocean, with its computer mathematically correcting for ship movements like pitch and roll. The radar's five-section feedhorn antenna supports both monopulse and conical scan methods, and it features solid-state circuits throughout, with approximately 35% microcircuited, except for its magnetron-based transmitter.
