Description

The LPI 2000 is an X-band naval radar system manufactured by the Italian company GEM Elettronica, designed for low probability of intercept (LPI) operations. It primarily functions as a pulsed radar but can reduce its transmitted power to a frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) level, making it difficult to detect. The system features fully coherent solid-state technology, offering high-resolution detection at low and medium ranges, and includes capabilities such as electronic support measures (ESM) compatibility and sector blanking. Its signal processor employs digital pulse compression and frequency sampling, utilizing both linear and nonlinear chirp FMCW waveforms. The LPI 2000 is notably in service with the Turkish Navy.
