Description
The US Navy’s Mk 54 Mod 2 is a new generation lightweight torpedo equipped with a custom-designed warhead to increase its lethality. The new torpedo is expected to detect, track, classify and attack a wide variety of underwater threats. The US Navy awarded a $233 million contract to Northrop Grumman for the new torpedo in January 2026.
