Description
The ASR (Persian: رادار عصر, "Epoch radar" or "Era radar") is a naval solid-state 3D air and sea surface surveillance radar operating in the L-band. Mounted on Iran's domestically developed Jamaran-class destroyers, it is capable of detecting boats, low-flying aircraft, and missiles at ranges between 5 and 110 nautical miles (approximately 9 to 200 km). This radar provides elevation information in addition to range and azimuth, can track up to 100 targets simultaneously, and includes weather monitoring. It utilizes a passive phased array antenna, with the transmitter located separately from the antenna.
