Description
The EA-18G Block III electronic attack aircraft will incorporate the Super Hornet Block III structural improvements to the EA-18G Growler. The aircraft will incorporate the Next Generation Jammer and will be capable of operating in challenging electromagnetic environments. The EA-18G Block III will be able to handle greater amounts of data and transfer it faster than the current Growler aircraft. Besides, conformal fuel tanks will increase the range and time on station. The US Navy plans call for upgrading the entire Growler fleet to the new Block III standard. The first aircraft entered the Block III upgrade in March 2021 and is expected to rejoin the fleet before 2025.
