Description
The Irkut is a next generation ultra-light space launch vehicle developed by TsNIIMash and the Energia Corporation under the Krylo-SV development work for the Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos). The Irkut rocket has been designed for launch from the Plesetsk cosmodrome beginning in 2024. The rocket is available in two versions one expendable and one reusable. Roscosmos announced the development of the Irkut rocket in September 2021 but the actual development work could have started several years before.
