Description
The M0.1.01.04M2 is an extended-range variant developed within 2016 with a maximum range of 10 kilometers and a more lethal warhead with a new fuel/explosive mixture. The key of the new weapon is the reduction of weight and size of the rocket system which has translated into more range and heavier thermobaric warhead. The maximum range is 10 kilometers and the dead zone or minimum range is 1.6 kilometers. The new variant development and testing was completed by the end of 2016 and is expected to enter into service with the Russian Army in 2017. The M0.1.01.04M2 longer range makes possible the TOS-1 artillery to operate outside the range of modern anti-tank guided missile systems (ATGM).
